Bearsden Extension

3d visualisation of proposed 2 storey extension in Bearsden

Architect Bearsden – Architecture Bearsden

Cooper Architectural provided architectural services throughout this project, from initial meeting and design discussions to 3d drawings to give the client and planners a better visual understanding of the projects scope and onto full planning permission and building warrant drawings.

This 2 storey extension in Bearsden is situated on a detached bungalow on a sloping site, the existing property is single story from the front but 2 stories from the rear.

The sloping site allowed for a Dining room extension off the existing Kitchen at first floor level and also a sunroom below with large glazed doors.

A combination of flat roof and hipped roofs are used to tie into the existing house and to work around the existing dormer window.

The high rear elevation is broken up by using a small intermediary roof projection at floor level, the external finish is roughcast to match the existing building above and Oak lining boards below, thus preventing an overwhelming expanse of roughcasting, consequently East Dunbartonshire Planning department were supportive of this solution.

Timber frame structure going up.

Building works are currently ongoing so check back to see this projects progress.
